My Photography
Welcome to my blog — and thank you for being here!
I thought I’d begin by sharing a little about where my interest in photography comes from, how I approach it today, and why I decided to launch this homepage.
Photography has fascinated me ever since I was a child. I was especially drawn to old black-and-white photos — how they captured a fleeting moment in time and preserved it for people in the future. I also loved the grainy color photos with that distinct, nostalgic feel. I guess you’d call it vintage now. :)
Despite that early interest, it took a while before I bought my first camera — a Canon 450D, sometime in the early 2000s. Later, around 2013, I picked up a Fujifilm X100. But it wasn’t until the COVID years that I really started taking photos more regularly. By then, I had upgraded to the Fujifilm X100V. I love how its physical dials allow you to control ISO, aperture, and shutter speed directly, without diving into menus. Not only did that make photography more fun, it also deepened my understanding of how those settings work together.
This creative pursuit has slowly grown from a quiet interest into a true passion. Whether I’m out in nature or wandering city streets, I’m always looking for those small, honest moments—when light, emotion, and timing align just right. Most of all, I want to capture the magical beauty of light that surrounds us every day.
At the same time, some photos are simply taken to document. I still enjoy looking at images from the past and seeing how places have changed over time. Now I want to do the same — to be the photographer who, many years ago, captured a moment that someone else will rediscover. Maybe there’s a journalist hiding somewhere inside me, just waiting for the right time to come out. :)
I’m still on a journey to discover which niche — or niches — I truly enjoy and want to focus on. So far, my portfolio is a bit all over the place. You’ll find everything from black and white, wildlife, and architecture to still life and landscapes. Writing this blog is one way for me to explore that path. Hopefully, it will also be a way to share photos that others enjoy, not just myself.
So once again—welcome to my homepage, and to my journey.
